If you follow us on social media, you’ve probably seen our posts earlier this month marking our first anniversary. It’s a huge milestone, and yet this is only the beginning. We’re proud of the work we’ve done, and the difference we’ve been able to make in our clients’ lives. That’s what it’s all about, and why we’re energized to keep working and celebrate many more anniversaries to come.
“I have dreamt about becoming an Attorney since I was about nine years old,” says Melissa J. Lyons. “Dreamt about opening my own law firm. Dreamt about making a difference in my clients’ lives.”
Melissa knows firsthand what a difference workers compensation makes in people’s lives in difficult times. When she was a child, her mother suffered a herniated disc from moving a stack of papers at her accounting job, andhad to endure five surgeries. The family sometimes went without food while her mother waited for the workers’ compensation system to process claims and issue checks, which were often delivered late. This experience is at the heart of the work the Law Offices of Melissa J. Lyons, Inc. does for their clients in Southern California today.
“I am so very proud of myself for everything I have been able to accomplish by pure determination and stubbornness to not give up on my dream,” Melissa says as she reflects upon the first anniversary. “Thank you to my clients, to my loved ones, and to my DREAM TEAM to make all of this happen on a day-to-day basis. Their hard work enables me to practice law in a field I am very passionate about. I am truly humbled and blessed.”
That passion and experience rooted in her childhood is why this work is so fulfilling. Connecting with clients makes the hard work worth it. “Thank you so much for everything you’ve done and all the advice you’ve given me,” a client recently wrote in an email. “You are the best thing that has happened to me in a very long time. Win or lose the case, I’ve learned so much from you. Thinking about this case adds to my anxiety, but your emails always put me at ease.”
Lyons and Team will keep the good fight going and Help California’s Injured Workers’ obtain all of the benefits they are entitled to in the Workers’ Compensation System.
